cosmic quest mission control slot reviewCosmic Quest: Mission Control is one of Rival’s more famous slot games. Since its release in 2008, the game has become one of the developer’s most widely played titles. It’s a little surprise when the game’s overall design plays on nostalgia, as it looks very similar to a 1980s arcade game.

We like reviewing popular games to find out whether they are worth the hype, which is why we decided to review Cosmic Quest: Mission Control. Read on to find out if this game is out of this world or a black hole for your money. (We’ll see ourselves out.)

Return to Player (RTP) and Volatility

Cosmic Quest: Mission Control has a return-to-player percentage of 95%. It is also a medium variance game. This means that while the game pays out about $95 spent on it, players actually don’t win as often as one might hope.

Medium variance means that the game isn’t as volatile as a progressive slot. But you aren’t going to see the regular small wins you may see on a slot with low variance.

Design

Cosmic Quest: Mission Control is your standard five-reel, three-row video slot with 20 paylines. Rival rarely deviates from this formula, so it’s not exactly a surprising choice from them.

Overall, the game is easy to play, with all the on-screen buttons and prompts being pretty self-explanatory. As far as imagery goes, the game could look a bit better. But the game is more than a decade old, so we should be a bit more forgiving here.

Gameplay

Here all you need to know about how to play Cosmic Quest: Mission Control:

Symbols

All the symbols in this game are theme-related. Some of the images include a space ship, a ray gun, some astronaut food, a space station, and an observatory. The rocket symbol is the wild, and the space monkey is the wild.

There is also a bonus symbol, which is the Pink Pilot. It activates a second bonus mode, which involves a bit of skill.

Bet Range

The game’s bet range isn’t very high and would probably disappoint some bettors. Firstly, the coin value ranges from $0.01 to $0.25. This means the lowest possible bet is 20c per spin if you only use one coin.

If you increase it to the maximum of ten coins, you get a maximum bet of $50 per spin. While this seems relatively high for the average player, it won’t satiate the needs of players who like to up the stakes to at least $100 a spin.

Bonus Features

Cosmic Quest: Mission Control has two distinct bonus features:

  1. Monkey Scatters – land three scatter symbols on the reels, and you will get 10 free spins. During the free spins feature, any wild that lands on the board expands to cover the entire reel.
  2. Asteroid Blasteroid Bonus – you activate this bonus mode by landing three Pink Pilot scatters on the reels. You will then enter a mini-game where you need to destroy asteroids. It’s more like a skill-based video game, so it’s an opportunity to win a lot quickly.

Cosmic Quest: Mission Control Final Rating

Cosmic Quest: Mission Control is a fun game. The graphics are a bit dated, but most players will still enjoy their time with it. Medium variance games sometimes scare off some slots players, but we think the bonuses ensure this game is a worthwhile ride.

We spent a lot of time with Cosmic Quest: Mission Control, and we believe that the game deserves a four out of five rating.
