European Blackjack Rules

Six decks of cards are used in European blackjack. You go up against the dealer as you both try to get your hand as close as possible to 21 without going over.

Cards between 2 and 9 use face value while the 10 to K cards are valued at 10. The ace card can take the value of 1 or 11 depending on the cards dealt. You are dealt two cards; both face down. The dealer gets one card face up and will only get the second card after you have played your hand.

Players can split, but only aces. When you split aces, you give yourself a chance of hitting blackjack twice. You are not allowed to split 10-value cards.

The dealer can stand on a soft 17 and draw on 16. You can never surrender, but you can make insurance bets.
